A union is a group of individuals who negotiate salaries, pensions, days off, etc. As a group with employers.
Positive attributes:
Employees of Unions are treated fairly.
All employees are on a level playing field in regards to pensions, salary, days off, etc.
Employees can submit complaints to their Unions as apposed to the employer directly.
Employees jobs are better protected under Constitutions ascociated with Unions.
Employees recieve better benefits.
Negetive attributes:
A loss of individuality for employees.
Employees must pay Union dues.
Lockouts and strikes are typically more likely to occur in Unions and are also more damaging in large Unions.
Union workers have no say in lockouts or strikes individually.
Unions can abuse their powers.
