1) I am considering becoming either a veterinarian or a psychologist.

2) I am attracted to becoming a veterinarian because I am a great lover of animals and am invested in helping improve their wellbeing. I am attracted to becoming a psychologist because I am naturally an empathetic person and enjoy learning just how the minds of others work.

3) Mainly, I am completing all pre-requisite courses required to get into university for these two particular career paths. I am also interested in getting involved with a local animal shelter or rescue, or else volunteering at a veterinarian’s office.

4) I plan to attend a post-secondary institution to further achieve one of these goals, and take the appropriate courses for whatever I decide upon. Applying for scholarships will also be within my plans.

5) Money is always a factor. My mother, being a single working mother, will not be able to send me to university on her own, and I plan on taking a gap year in order to work and save up enough money to go through university. Of course, family issues may also crop up – my grandparents, retired, are getting older, and my grandfather’s health is declining – which may require me to step back and re-evaluate my goals and priorities.

6) My alternatives may include a total goal change to a career that may be more appealing or affordable in my future. I might also decide that learning at a university is not something I’d like to do (but that, of course, is incredibly unlikely). It’s simply too early for me to really predict what might happen in the future. In all likelihood, I may be a totally different person from who I am now, and so for me to attempt to guess how I might react in certain situations is rather futile. Whatever path I choose, I know that it will ultimately be the right path. It might be a rocky path, with many ups and downs and perhaps some fallen trees or a particularly nasty-looking ravine to traverse, but I believe I will follow it all the same.
