yes i have one time at 4H Mechanics. me and my friends had lifted the engine block of a big john deer tractor and started to the old injectors out to put new one's in and i was asked to go get some tools and i had goten side tracked from what i was dooing because i was looking at the warp in the engine block and well needles to say one of my buddys wasent soo informed that whan you let the oil pressure off the jack it lets the lift down and well he was pissing around with the jack on the lift and he let all the pressure and i mean all the pressure and well i was lucky to get my head and body out of the way but my feet on the other hand got lucky to be the brakes and i wasent wearing steel toed boots at the time yeah i ended up breaking two of my toes and my in step of my foot and i wasent to verry happy all i can say is i just about knocked his stupid ass out, affter that he didnt do no fuckin around and he soon affter learned what dose what and how all the components of the engine lift works so that never happend again. how could work related accidents be prevented such as small stuff such like twisting the relase valve on a engine host and breaking somones foot or posibly killing them, well one if you dont know how every flippin thing works on the tool dont fuck with it dont even touch it, if you need to use it for somthing ask how it works and how to use it safely, always ask your self and others how could i get hurt or how could somone els get hurt when im using this tool, always ask how any tool works if you havent had a safty and training on the tools, always look for other people that may be working or observing the parts that need to be fixed dont just think nothing is going to go rong because somthing ussaly will like that kid didint think of the fact that the block was like 5-6 hundred pounds and if it had landed on my head i wouldent be hear todsay, always when you come into a new shop, work site , office building, ware house, it dont matter ask if you will recive training on how to use all the tools properly and always ask if you will be geting safety training on all the tools, ask what PPE is mandatory for work dont just come as the tuff guy because you will one end up really hurt ot two dead, and if it comes down to not feeling confident on any of the tools affter about two weeks well maby that really isint the job you should be doing, if you have any concerns about yours or any body safty talk to you boss about it tell him whats rong then maby show it to him so that he understands that it is a safty hazard and should be delt with if he the boss man dosent deal with it well then one do it your self or two you have your rights to say that sir i just dont feel safe doing this task becasue of this reson so i am going to have to say i am not doing this untill we dosomthing about this problem, always know where the firs aid kits are, where the cemical hazerds first aid kits are and spills clean up kits are, know where all PPE is whether it is yours or provided by the boss.
